Rush is an academic health system in Chicago whose mission is to improve the health of the patients and the diverse communities it serves with nationally recognized health care, education, research and a commitment to community partnerships.

And, every day, Rush University Medical Group providers make a critical contribution to Rush's success. The approximately 700 providers comprise about 60 percent of the Rush medical staff, overseeing about 70 percent of all inpatient admissions and performing about half of all procedures at the medical center.

This was an exciting time to be at Rush and to be a part of RUMG and the new intranet site played a critical role. With so many clinical advances and so much growth on campus and their communities, it is sometimes challenging to keep up to date on all the changes. This new resource boasted a clean design and consistent navigation that directs the user to the most relevant information and also a new and exciting way to show the growth and the impact RUMG makes to improving the health RUSH’s patients.

The first step was to understand the intranet structure and, after some meetings with the RUMG leaders, organize the actual online content, creating areas to accommodate new information and also facilitate the access to important sections of the intranet.
